Sea Birds

    Pelicans

    Pelicans are large, water-dwelling birds known for their distinctive long bills and expandable throat pouches. They are excellent fishers, often seen gliding gracefully over water, and live in colonies near coasts and lakes.

    Albatross

    Albatrosses are large seabirds known for their impressive wingspans, graceful gliding over vast ocean distances, and exceptional navigation skills. They spend most of their lives at sea, returning to land only to breed in remote colonies.

    Gannets

    Gannets are large seabirds known for their striking white plumage, black wingtips, and dramatic plunge-diving behavior to catch fish. They are strong flyers, often found in colonies along cliffs and coastal regions.

    Penguins

    Little Penguins can sometimes be seen around the Central Coast, especially near rocky shores and islands. They come ashore to nest and rest. They are easily disturbed, so it’s important to give them space and protect their homes from rubbish and noise.
